Job summary

Amity Technical Services & Consultancy (M) Sdn.Bhd. in Penang is seeking a Test Engineer to ensure quality, reliability and performance of electrical and electronic products.

You will design, develop and execute testing protocols throughout development to delivery. The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, hands-on testing experience, and strong problem-solving, documentation and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Test Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic principles and circuit analysis.
• Experience with test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team.

About the role
We are seeking a Test Engineer to join Amity Technical Services & Consultancy (M) Sdn.Bhd. in Penang on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our Electrical/Electronic Engineering division, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our electrical and electronic products and systems. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and executing comprehensive testing protocols that validate product functionality and compliance with industry standards. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients and contributes directly to the success of our projects from development through to final delivery.

What you'll be doing

Designing and developing test plans, test cases and test procedures for electrical and electronic systems and components

Setting up, configuring and operating testing equipment and instrumentation to execute validation and verification activities

Executing functional, performance and compliance testing according to established protocols and industry standards

Conducting troubleshooting and root cause analysis of defects and failures identified during testing

Documenting test results, creating detailed technical reports and maintaining comprehensive test records

Collaborating with design engineers and project teams to identify and resolve technical issues

Ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations and client requirements throughout the testing process

Identifying opportunities for process improvement and recommending enhancements to testing methodologies

Providing technical support during product development, integration and deployment phases

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline

Proven experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar role within the electrical/electronic engineering sector

Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, circuit analysis and component functionality

Proficiency with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and spectrum analysers

Experience with automated testing systems and test software programming

Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements (such as IEC, IEEE or equivalent standards)

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong technical documentation and report writing capabilities

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Good communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly

Preferred: Experience with data acquisition systems, software testing or embedded systems testing

Preferred: Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001
