Job summary

Charterhouse Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a University Guidance Counsellor with strong admissions experience to guide students from early exploration through applications and offers. You will collaborate with the Head of Sixth Form, parents and teachers to support ambitious learners.

You will build relationships with universities worldwide, provide interview preparation and manage references and transcripts, helping students access Russell Group, Ivy League and other top destinations.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Head of Sixth Form, students, parents and academic colleagues, you will guide students from early university exploration and subject choices through applications, offers and successful transition to higher education.

We have high expectations for university progression, including Russell Group, Ivy League and QS top 50 destinations. You will help students pursue ambitious, well researched choices that reflect their strengths, interests and aspirations.

You will bring practical knowledge of application processes in the UK, US, Australia and Malaysia, alongside an understanding of other global destinations. The role includes individual counselling, parent workshops, application and interview preparation, coordination of references and transcripts, and accurate tracking of applications and destinations.

You will also develop relationships with universities, alumni and external organisations, supporting visiting speakers, university events, summer programmes and opportunities that broaden students’ academic and career horizons.
