Job summary

Whale Cloud Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced UAT Testing Manager to own and lead the User Acceptance Testing phase for BSS projects in the telecom sector. You will bridge client stakeholders and delivery teams, define UAT strategy, manage test plans and defects, and drive formal customer sign-off.

You will mentor teams, maintain quality metrics, and collaborate with R&D, operations, and governance bodies to ensure business requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or related field.
• 8+ years of software testing experience, including 3+ years in test management / UAT lead roles.
• Hands-on experience with telecom operators or BSS vendors preferred.
• Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, test management, and defect management processes.
• Familiar with test management tools (JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail) and test automation concepts.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; able to engage business users and leadership.
• Proficient in Chinese language to liaise with China counterpart.

Responsibilities

• Track defects to closure, coordinate re-testing and regression, and maintain quality metrics.
• Act as the point of contact for testing between client stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Provide regular progress, quality, and risk reporting to program leadership and customer governance.
• Ensure UAT entry/exit criteria are met and drive formal customer sign-off.
• Establish and continuously improve testing processes, templates, and best practices.

Job description

Whale Cloud is delivering Business Support System (BSS) services for clients from the telecommunications industry. We are looking for an experienced UAT Testing Manager to own and lead the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase throughout the BSS project delivery lifecycle. You will be the key interface between client stakeholders and WCT delivery teams, ensuring the delivered solution meets business requirements and achieves formal customer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

Define the UAT strategy, test approach, scope, entry/exit criteria, and acceptance criteria aligned with project delivery milestones.

Develop and maintain the UAT plan, schedule, resource plan, and environment/data readiness.

2. Test Management & Execution

Lead UAT test case design, review, and execution together with client business users and internal teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

8+ years of software testing experience, including 3+ years in test management / UAT lead roles.

Hands-on experience with telecom operators or BSS vendors is strongly preferred.

Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, test management, and defect management processes.

Familiar with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail) and test automation concepts.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to engage business users and senior leadership.

Proficient in Chinese language is a must, as you are required to liaise with China counterpart.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

ISTQB Foundation/Advanced or equivalent certification.

Prior experience with major telecom or regional enterprise projects.
