Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions – Perai, Penang is seeking a Tooling Engineer with 3 years experience in high-speed stamping. The role focuses on tool design and tool making, with hands-on responsibility for new tool layouts, debugging, and process improvements.

You will review FA reports, manage standard parts, coordinate with vendors, and support die maintenance while ensuring tooling schedules meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Tool or Die Making Certification / Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Skills: Knowledge in Press Tools Design, DFMEA analysis.
• Work Experience: Min 3 years hands on in High-Speed Stamping Industry on Tool Design or Tool Making.
• Other requirements: Understanding of GD&T, mechanical assembly, and quality inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• New tool design layout and drawings.
• Participate in new tool assembly and debugging tool.
• Involved in improvement projects and modification of tools with Die Maintenance Department.
• Order standard parts and follow up delivery lead times according to tooling schedule.
• Involve in vendor fabrication quality issues and delivery issues to meet tooling schedule.
• Review FA reports and follow-up on sample submissions.
• Participate in transfer tooling projects for buy-off.
• Handle other tasks as requested by superior.
