Job summary

Coherent Corp. seeks a Diploma-qualified technician to maintain tester functionality at our Ipoh site, minimize downtime, and perform systematic device verifications and tester conversions aligned with production and planner requirements.

You will support new setups and GRR activities while upholding safety, quality standards, and housekeeping practices. The role emphasizes continual improvement and adherence to ICARE values within a global manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 1 year or more experience in Equipment Maintenance/Testing; willingness to be considered with on-the-job learning.
• Good computer literacy and communication skills.
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debugging or verification.

Responsibilities

• Sustain module tester line operations and ensure testers run efficiently.
• Perform periodic DV, support troubleshooting, and stop tester operations if quality or safety issues arise.
• Improve ergonomics and operational efficiency through elimination, simplification, integration, and automation initiatives.
• Support yield and testability improvements, reduce over-rejection rates, and enhance tester performance.
• Conduct SPC monitoring and apply Risk-Based Thinking in assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Cleanroom, ISO, and company regulations.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

Diploma of Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or relevant.

Experience

At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience. Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc.

Special Skills

• With good computer literacy, good communication skills.
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
