Job summary

Carsem in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead production scheduling for high-volume semiconductor test manufacturing. The role focuses on ensuring on-time delivery, meeting customer demand, and maintaining quality standards.

You will maximize OEE for Test Finishing lines (T&R and AVI), drive improvements in Tape & Reel packaging, coordinate with Test Engineering, CMO, Quality, and Sales to ensure material readiness, monitor WIP, and track KPIs like output and lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
• 3–5 years progressive operations management or leadership experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and data-tracking skills.
• Proven team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience in high-volume semiconductor test manufacturing and final test operations.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and optimize detailed lot schedules to ensure on-time delivery while meeting customer demand and quality standards.
• Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for Test Finishing line (e.g., T&R & AVI) by minimizing unplanned downtimes.
• Drive improvements at Tape & Reel packaging and AVI testing throughput and reduce production downtime.
• Align with Test Engineering, CMO, Quality, and sales teams to ensure material readiness and prevent bottlenecks.
• Monitor production WIP and adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes.
• Track KPIs such as output, lead times, and inventory levels.
• Monitor and controls inventory to ensure targets are met (Inventory Turns).

Maximize Uptime: Achieve and sustain target Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for Test Finishing line (e.g., T&R & AVI) by minimizing unplanned downtimes.

Driving improvements at Tape & Reel (T&R) packaging and as well as Automated Vision Inspection (AVI) testing throughput, and reducing production unplanned downtime.

Aligning with Test Engineering, Customer Management Organization (CMO), Quality, and sales teams to ensure material readiness and prevent bottlenecks.

Monitor production work in progress (WIP) and adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, lead times, and inventory levels.

Monitors and controls inventory to ensure targets are met (Inventory Turns).

Education Level and Field of Study:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

Working Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in Operations management or a leadership role.

Technical and Professional Knowledge:

Strong analytical problem-solving, proficiency in tracking data and outstanding team leadership capabilities

High Volume Semiconductor Test Manufacturing and Final Test Operations.

Certification/ Licensing Requirements:

Certifications like Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) are highly desired in manufacturing test environments for driving process improvements and yield optimization.
