The Senior Manager, Test Development leads the overall test development and test engineering organization responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining manufacturing test solutions for power electronics, power systems, and related products.
This role owns the complete test lifecycle from NPI through mass production while ensuring manufacturing readiness, product quality, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term test capability growth.
The position works closely with Global Engineering, R&D, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and customers to deliver scalable, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing test solutions.
As the leader of the Test Engineering department, your core responsibilities will include:
Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of automated production test solutions from NPI through mass production.
Oversee production test operations to ensure high equipment availability, reliable test performance, and efficient manufacturing support. Drive continuous improvements in yield, cycle time, and overall test process capability.
Develop long-term test equipment and infrastructure strategies to support business growth and manufacturing demand. Manage equipment utilization, capacity planning, and capital investments while ensuring timely qualification and deployment of new test systems.
Establish and strengthen the organization's test development capabilities by standardizing hardware, software, and engineering best practices. Drive technology adoption, knowledge sharing, and technical competency development across the engineering team.
Ensure all manufacturing test systems are properly qualified, validated, and maintained to meet quality and regulatory requirements. Lead equipment qualification activities, calibration programs, and validation methodologies to guarantee reliable production testing.
Lead complex failure investigations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions. Enhance test coverage and robustness to prevent quality escapes and improve product reliability.
Manage engineering CAPEX and OPEX by developing investment plans, evaluating return on investment, and optimizing resource utilization. Support business growth through cost-effective engineering solutions and strategic budget planning.
Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization by coaching, mentoring, and developing technical talent. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning to achieve organizational objectives.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:10 years of experience test development and test engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role and preferably in an electronics or power industry.
Domain Expertise:Deep knowledge in EMS/HLA manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills:Strong proficiency in Test Development, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) skills, and Debug/Rework methodologies.
Preferred Technical Background:In-depth understanding of power supply design and operation, including AC-DC and DC-DC conversion principles. Familiarity with reliability and environmental testing (HASS, HALT, burn-in, thermal cycling, vibration)
Certifications:Lean Six Sigma or IPC-A-610, IPC 7711/7721 certifications are considered strong advantages.
