Job summary

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience in petroleum loading/unloading is a plus.
• Ability to monitor gauges, valves, and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate terminal equipment for receipt, storage, and transfer of petroleum products.
• Load and unload to road tankers and rail wagons.
• Monitor product movements and perform tank changeovers.
• Conduct routine tank gauging and inventory measurements.
• Ensure product quality and prevent contamination.

• Operate terminal equipment for the receipt, storage, and transfer of petroleum products.
• Perform loading and unloading of petroleum products to and from:
• Road tankers
• Rail wagons (where applicable)
• Monitor product movements through pumps, valves, manifolds, pipelines, and storage tanks.
• Perform tank changeovers and line-up activities according to operational procedures.
• Ensure correct product allocation and prevent product contamination.

2. Loading & Unloading Operations

• Prepare loading and discharge facilities before commencement of operations.
• Conduct pre-transfer safety inspections.
• Connect and disconnect loading arms and hoses safely.
• Monitor loading/discharging rates and pressures.
• Record quantities transferred accurately.
• Verify product quality before transfer.

3. Tank Farm Operations

• Monitor storage tank levels, temperatures, and pressures.
• Conduct routine tank gauging and inventory measurements.
• Assist in stock reconciliation and inventory management.
• Inspect tanks for abnormalities or leaks.
• Support tank cleaning and maintenance activities.
