Job summary

Kuala Lumpur Pavilion seeks a dedicated maintenance technician to inspect, test, and repair fire protection and LPG systems across the mall. You will ensure compliance with BOMBA, mall standards, and regulatory requirements while coordinating with contractors.

The role covers mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tasks, handling inspections, preventive maintenance, and tenant requests. Shifts, weekends and overtime may be required, with focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mechanical, electrical and fire safety systems maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience supervising contractors and maintenance teams.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot fire protection and LPG systems within mall premises.
• Ensure all installations and maintenance comply with BOMBA, mall and regulatory standards.
• Assist with annual BOMBA inspections and address non‑compliance issues.
• Maintain thorough records of inspections and maintenance per SOPs.
• Maintain HVAC, pumps, motors and ventilation systems; perform preventive maintenance.
• Attend tenant requests, supervise contractors, and report safety hazards.

Maintain inspection, testing and maintenance records in accordance with the mall’s SOPs.

1. Fire

• Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot fire protection and LPG systems.
• Ensure installations, maintenance and contractor works comply with mall, BOMBA and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with annual BOMBA inspections and rectify fire safety or LPG non-compliance issues.
• Maintain inspection, testing and maintenance records in accordance with the mall’s SOPs.

2. Mechanical

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, pumps, motors, ventilation systems and other mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
• Attend to tenant complaints, inspections, equipment setup and repair requests.
• Supervise contractors and report equipment faults or safety hazards for corrective action.

3. Plumbing

• Inspect, maintain and repair water supply, sanitary and drainage systems.
• Attend to leaking pipes, clogged drains, faulty toilets, water pressure issues and other plumbing problems.
• Install and service pipes, valves, pumps, taps, sinks and sanitary fixtures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond promptly to tenant and management requests.

Job Requirements

• SPM, Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Fire Safety or a related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant working experience, preferably in a shopping mall or commercial building.
• Relevant technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills and experience using maintenance tools and equipment.
• Able to supervise contractors and carry out hands‑on maintenance work.
• Willing to work on shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime when required.
