Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to monitor and operate critical site systems, perform routine maintenance, report issues, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory practices.

You will engage in preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate with external vendors. The role requires 1–3 years in facilities maintenance, a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical fields, and basic computer skills (MS Excel/Word).

Qualifications

• Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of facility systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, pumps, compressors, and utilities.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in facilities maintenance.
• Good computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and maintenance systems.
• Willing to work on shifts, standby, or on-call when required.
• Good teamwork and communication skills with a responsible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Routine inspection, operation, and maintenance of facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, CDA, chilled water, fire protection, and cleanroom systems.
• Attend to daily facilities issues, breakdowns, and corrective maintenance works.
• Monitor facility system performance and recording operating parameters.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot and rectify equipment and facility system failures.
• Support emergency response for facilities system failures.
• Supervise and coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair works.
• Ensure contractor works comply with site safety rules and permit-to-work requirements.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintain good teamwork, communication, and a responsible attitude.
