Job summary
Ansell is seeking a Maintenance Lead based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. You will lead shift and PM technicians, ensure timely response to breakdowns, and drive preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment availability and safety.
You will champion reliability improvements, RCFA, and TPM programs, manage resources, coach staff, and ensure GMP and safety compliance while coordinating with Production, Quality, Process Engineering and OT teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience leading maintenance technicians or teams.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and maintenance planning.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Willing to support after-hours breakdowns and critical shutdowns.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise shift technicians and PM technicians in daily maintenance activities.
- Minimize downtime through timely response and effective troubleshooting of breakdowns.
- Coordinate maintenance resources, manpower allocation, and prioritization to support production.
- Drive reliability improvements including RCFA, MTBF/MTTR targets, and TPM programs.
- Ensure safety, GMP, quality standards and proper documentation are followed.
- Coach and develop maintenance staff and promote a proactive maintenance culture.

Ansell is looking for Maintenance Lead to be based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
This position is responsible for leading shift technicians and PM technicians in maintaining production equipment, utilities, and facility assets to achieve high equipment reliability, availability, and safety performance. This role ensures effective execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, improve OEE, and optimize maintenance costs. The position serves as the frontline maintenance leader, providing technical guidance, work prioritization, coaching, and operational support to maintenance teams.

- Lead and supervise shift technicians and PM technicians in the execution of daily maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely response and effective troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Coordinate maintenance resources, manpower allocation, and work prioritization to support production requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance KPIs to ensure achievement of plant reliability targets.
- Ensure proper shift handover, work order closure, and maintenance documentation.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor execution of preventive maintenance activities according.
- Ensure PM compliance targets are achieved while maintaining equipment reliability.
- Support predictive maintenance activities including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic inspection, and condition monitoring.
- Review maintenance findings and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
- Ensure maintenance standards and equipment care procedures are followed consistently.
- Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for major equipment breakdowns and recurring failures.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives to improve MTBF, reduce MTTR, and increase equipment availability.
- Identify chronic equipment issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support implementation of TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Progressive Maintenance, and Reliability Excellence programs.
- Utilize maintenance data and equipment history to develop reliability improvement strategies.
- Lead small to medium-scale engineering improvement projects to enhance safety, productivity, quality, and reliability.
- Identify and implement maintenance cost reduction opportunities through engineering improvements and optimization.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, modifications, commissioning, and capital projects.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and OT teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support new equipment installation, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to maintenance technicians.
- Develop technician competency through structured training and hands-on guidance.
- Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Support performance management and competency assessment of maintenance personnel.
- Build team ownership and accountability for equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety requirements, including LOTO, PTW, machine guarding, and electrical safety procedures.
- Lead safety investigations related to maintenance activities and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP, quality, environmental, and engineering standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, spare parts usage, equipment history, and technical documentation.
- Manage maintenance contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with site requirements.
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience leading maintenance technicians or maintenance teams.
- Proven experience in preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability improvement.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems, maintenance planning, and work order management.
- Experience in maintenance improvement projects and equipment modification activities.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Hands-on approach with excellent troubleshooting skills.

- Willing to support emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours when required.

- Available to support weekend maintenance and plant turnaround activities when necessary.
