Jora Malaysia is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee daily inspection, preventive maintenance and repairs of conveyor and sorting equipment in a warehouse setting.

This role involves performing daily inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of conveyor and sorting equipment in a warehouse/sorting center environment. You will monitor conveyor operation, identify abnormal conditions and safety issues, and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruption to sorting operations.
Perform daily inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of conveyor and sorting equipment
Monitor conveyor operation and identify abnormal conditions, breakdowns and safety issues
Troubleshoot and repair conveyor components including motors, belts, rollers, bearings, chains, sensors, switches, gearboxes and related parts
Check and maintain conveyor belt alignment, tension, tracking and overall condition
Troubleshoot basic electrical and control issues involving sensors, wiring, switches and control panels
Respond quickly to conveyor breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruption to sorting operations
Assist with installation, replacement, modification and testing of conveyor equipment and components
Inspect emergency stops, safety devices, sensors and other conveyor safety features
Record maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs, spare parts and machine downtime
Maintain stock of commonly used spare parts and tools and report shortages
Minimum Diploma/Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field
Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in maintenance, conveyor systems, warehouse automation, manufacturing or similar environments (preferably with valid Chargeman A4 Competency Certificate is an advantage)
Conveyor system or automated sorting equipment experience is highly preferred
Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including motors, sensors, bearings, belts, rollers, chains, wiring and control panels
Basic knowledge of PLC, inverter/VFD and control systems is an advantage
Able to use basic maintenance tools and read basic electrical or mechanical drawings
Able to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns independently and respond quickly to technical issues
Good problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to coordinate with Operations and other teams
Responsible, disciplined, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team
