Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead technology and regulatory initiatives within the banking industry. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

You will develop detailed plans, manage budgets and risks, and translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks for implementation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience, with at least 3 years in Banking/Financial Services.
• Proven experience managing technology implementation, regulatory, digital transformation, or enterprise IT projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of technical projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, and project documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including business, technology, infrastructure, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure project deliverables comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
• Monitor project progress, milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical deliverables for implementation teams.
• Ensure high-quality project delivery while maintaining compliance with policies and standards.
• Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Project Manager (Banking & Regulatory Technology)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of technology and regulatory initiatives within the banking industry. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and exposure to regulatory and risk management projects involving Malaysian financial institutions.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of technical projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of Project Management experience, with at least 3 years of experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Proven experience managing technology implementation, regulatory, digital transformation, or enterprise IT projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Experience delivering projects involving regulatory compliance, risk management, or banking technology is highly preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum are highly desirable.
• Experience with regulatory initiatives involving Malaysian financial institutions or financial industry compliance frameworks will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with enterprise technology, governance, and risk management frameworks is preferred.
