Job summary

HZ M & E CONSULTANTS in Malaysia is seeking a full-time on-site Draughtsman to support mechanical and electrical projects, with emphasis on water-related works. This role offers career growth and hands-on drafting responsibilities.

You will prepare M&E drawings (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical), create construction drawings, and convert concepts into detailed CAD layouts while coordinating with engineers and contractors. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have at least a Certificate in Drafting Skills or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years in consulting and construction, particularly in water risk-related works or with JPS Malaysia experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) drawings including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems based on project specs.
• Produce construction drawings, layouts, and detailed CAD drawings to support project implementation.
• Convert design concepts and specifications into accurate CAD drawings.
• Assist engineers with developing, modifying, and updating drawings per project needs.
• Revise drawings based on feedback and ensure latest revisions are updated.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure design integration and avoid clashes.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with standards and company drafting guidelines.

Job Description

• 1. Candidate must possess at least Certificate in Drafting Skills or Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
• 2. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in consulting and construction, particularly in water risk–related works and with experience in projects involving the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) Malaysia, will be given priority.
• 3. Proficient in AutoCAD
• 4. Good command of both verbal and written communications skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• 5. Strong coordination, demonstrate initiative, and able to work under minimum supervision.
• 6. Ability to multi-task, demonstrate teamwork, have a sense of urgency, and positive attitude.
• 7. Possess a valid driving license (D or B2) and own transport would be an added advantage
• 8. Willing to Travel / Outstation.
• 9. Range age : 20 year to 29 year.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Prepare Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) drawings including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems based on project specifications and design requirements.
• 2. Produce construction drawings, layouts, and detailed drawings to support project implementation and site construction.
• 3. Convert design concepts, rough sketches, and engineering specifications into accurate and detailed CAD drawings.
• 4. Assist engineers and designers in developing, modifying, and updating drawings according to project requirements.
• 5. Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, consultants, or clients and ensure the latest revisions are properly updated.
• 6. Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure design integration and prevent clashes between M&E and other building systems.
• 7. Review drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and company drafting guidelines.
• 8. Prepare and update shop drawings, schematic drawings, and layout plans where required.
• 9. Maintain and organize all CAD files, drawing documentation, revision logs, and drawing archives in an orderly and accessible manner.
• 10. Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion based on site updates and submit final documentation to relevant stakeholders.
• 11. Follow instructions from project engineers or senior designers and assist in obtaining drawing approvals when required.
• 12. Ensure proper version control and documentation updates for all drawings issued for review, approval, or construction.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
