Job summary

HAPM Consultants Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Technical Assistant to support project teams on site, ensuring work proceeds on schedule and in accordance with drawings and specifications. The role requires a recognised Diploma in Civil Engineering and 5–8 years of relevant experience, with strong technical knowledge and English language skills considered an advantage.

You will assist with site monitoring, QA/QC, progress reporting, and handover procedures, contributing to overall project

Qualifications

• Recognised Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8 years’ experience in Technical Assistant works.
• Strong technical knowledge and skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project site progress with the Project Team and ensure schedule compliance.
• Ensure drawings and specifications are followed; perform site visits, QA/QC tests, and inspections.
• Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc progress reports as required.
• Highlight on‑site technical problems and report to the Project Engineer.
• Assist in status reporting and QA/QC compliance with procedures.
• Carry out spot checks for contract compliance and notify non‑conformities.
• Verify testing and commissioning procedures with qualified personnel and standards.
• Assist in verifying handover procedures by RET/Contractor per approved procedures.
• Check and verify progress claims by Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Team to monitor the project site progress and ensure that the project is implemented according to schedule.
• Assist Project Team to monitor and ensure the project is in general compliance with drawings and specifications, and carry out site visits, audits, quality control tests, and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and contract requirements.
• Assist the Project Team in the preparation of monthly progress reports and any ad‑hoc reports if required.
• Highlight possible technical problems on‑site and report to Project Engineer.
• Assist and report to Project Team on the project physical status and compliance with the approved quality assurance (QA) / quality control (QC) procedures.
• Carry out spot checks at the work site for compliance and notify the Project Engineer of any non‑compliance with the contract.
• Assist Project Team in verifying all testing and commissioning procedures, ensuring they are performed by qualified personnel and comply with applicable standards.
• Assist the Project Team in verifying the handover procedures performed by RET/Contractor as per approved procedures.
• Assist Project Team in checking and verifying progress claims by Contractor.
