Job summary

Amari Kuala Lumpur is seeking a customer-focused F&B service professional to support guest dining experiences and In-room Dining services. You will welcome guests, assist with seating, and serve food and beverages to high standards, while upselling where appropriate.

Responsibilities include handling reservations, cashiering, daily sales records, and assisting with events and function rooms. The role requires a friendly attitude and strong teamwork, with local residency in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food and beverage service preferred.
• Local Malaysia resident preferred.

Responsibilities

• Know the food menu and promotions including preparation times, cooking methods, main ingredient and side dishes for the outlet(s) assigned.
• Welcome guests and assist in seating procedures.
• Supervises and participates in serving food & beverage according to standards.
• Assists the Host/ess in organizing reservations and table assignments.
• Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships and actively promotes repeat business.
• Sets up In-room Dining service area on time before service and according to standards.
• Takes In-room Dining orders, assists guests with recommendations and up-sells to increase the average check.
• Inputs and settles order in the Micros system.
• Ensures amenities are delivered, set-up and refreshed according to schedule.
• Communicate with kitchen regarding dietary requirements and special requests.
• Assists team with daily functions and duties such as serving coffee breaks, set ups/tear downs.
• Cashiering and properly records all sales of food and beverages.
• Properly completes Remittance Reports and remits receipts in accordance with procedures.

Job description

• Ensures all guest requests and complaints are handled appropriately adhering to the hotel’s general guidelines for service recovery.
• Checks daily mise-en-place, cleanliness and set-up before service.
• Welcomes guests and assists in seating procedures.
• Supervises and participates in serving food & beverage according to standards.
• Assists the Host/ess in organizing reservations and table assignments.
• Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships and actively promotes repeat business.

In Room Dining

• Sets up In-room Dining service area on time before service and according to standards.
• Takes In-room Dining orders, assists guests with recommendations and up-sells to increase the average check.
• Inputs and settles order in the Micros system.
• Ensures amenities are delivered, set-up and refreshed according to schedule.
• Ensures functions are set-up timely and in accordance with event orders.
• Communicate with kitchen with regards to dietary requirements and special requests.
• Assists team with daily functions and duties such as serving coffee breaks, set ups/tear downs.
• Ensures all signage at function entrance door is correct.
• Welcomes all organizers in the function room and offers assistance in the absence of the Banquet Operations Manager.
• Offers basic assistance with audio visual equipment as needed.
• Ensure all daily changes are added to event orders and copies distributed as appropriate.
• Supervises dinners and cocktails, assisting Team Members wherever needed.
• Cashiering
• Properly records all sales of food and beverages.
• Prepares accounting for and handling of both the daily cash receipts as well as the Cashier’s House Fund.
• Properly completes the Remittance Report and remit receipts in accordance with accounting procedures.
• Properly completes the Restaurant Cashier’s Summary.
• Accounts for all guest checks issued.
• Accepts cash payments and makes correct change

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a food and beverage service role is preferred but not required.
