Job summary

ONYX Hospitality Group is seeking a dedicated Training Specialist to support kitchen operations by training staff on procedures and hours, and communicating promotions and menus within the department.

The role involves keeping collaterals and stationery in good condition, managing administrative tasks, and taking minutes for internal meetings to be shared with managers in a timely manner. Local Malaysia residents are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Min diploma in hospitality or equivalent.
• Practical experience as a departmental trainer in kitchen.
• Proficient in handling processes and familiarity with computers.
• Excellent command of English language.
• Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports kitchen operations by training staff on procedures and hours.
• Keeps signage and collaterals updated and well maintained.
• Handles administrative tasks and minutes for internal meetings.
• Maintains orderly filing of documents including banquet orders and event orders.
• Responds to emails and WhatsApp inquiries promptly.

• General
  o Knows the Food & Beverage outlets and kitchens operational hours and the work hours of kitchen.
  o Knows the updated Food & Beverage promotions/ menu and able to communicate it within the department.
  o Ensure all collaterals are kept at the appropriate par level and in a good condition.
  o Ensure all stationery items are available and in a good condition.
  o Ensures all administrative job including ad hoc jobs are handled appropriately adhering to the hotel’s general guidelines.
  o Ensure all Banquet Event Orders and Outlets Internal Event Orders are printed and filed.
  o Ensures all relevant documents are filed accordingly.
  o Taking minutes for all internal meetings and minutes to be shared to the respective managers in time.
  o Ensure cleanliness of the workplace.
  o Handles all telephone calls courteously and efficiently
• taking messages and communicate the messages promptly and accurately to Executive Chef.
  o Ensure all emails are responded and acknowledged in time.
  o Ensure all inquiries on WhatsApp via hotel mobile phone are acknowledged in time

Qualifications:

• Min diploma in hospitality or equivalent.
  - Practical experience as a departmental trainer in kitchen.
  - Must be proficient in handling and process and familiar with computer.
  - Excellent command of English language
