Job summary

JCS Design Project Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Team Leader, Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial success across tenders, costing, procurement and final accounts. You will lead tendering, monitor budgets, manage subcontractor negotiations and supervise a QS team, ensuring profitable project delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, independent working style and collaboration with project managers and site teams to optimise costs and protect profitability.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management, preferably within construction, interior fit-out or Design & Build environments.
• Good understanding of project commercial management and ability to identify cost exposure, risks and profitability opportunities.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple projects and lead or mentor junior QS team members.
• Candidates with strong leadership potential who are ready to progress into a broader commercial leadership role are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead tender & costing activities — prepare BQ, project costing, tender submissions and commercial evaluations.
• Drive project cost & profitability control — monitor budgets, project costs, GP and forecasts.
• Manage procurement & commercial negotiations — evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing and secure competitive solutions.
• Oversee contracts, claims & final accounts — manage progress claims, variations and final accounts.
• Lead and develop the QS team — guide junior QS members and allocate priorities.
