Job summary

What’s Upstate is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead root cause investigations, drive corrective actions with a US-based team, and coordinate cross-functional improvements across our power products.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in high-volume manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills (8D/5-Why/DMAIC), and hands-on MFG tooling know-how. This role emphasizes design-for-manufacturability and ramping new products with rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing field with relevant engineering degree.
• Strong ability to identify improvements, manage changes and implement solutions with urgency.
• Experience with engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC, Pareto Analysis, DoE and problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, DMAIC).
• Experience delivering results in high-volume manufacturing and leading a team of engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for line hold disposition and root cause investigation.
• Work with US based team to drive investigations and corrective actions forward.
• Communicate daily with all levels of the organization across factories.
• Partner with cross functional team to identify and drive improvements in manufacturability, yield, performance, quality and reliability for our power products.
• Participate in reviews to ensure design for manufacturability best practices are followed.
• Ramp new products released from R&D while monitoring performance and driving improvements.
• Create and update detailed documentation for processes and procedures.
• Direct and manage design implementation of required process changes and modifications.
• Plan, conduct and direct complex projects or major phases of significant projects.
• Work directly with contract manufacturing engineering and manufacturing personnel and equipment suppliers.
• Prevent quality excursions, monitor process performance, and compile and analyze data to detect any process or product anomalies
• Identify and implement items for improvement including upgrades to equipment and process
• Experience in semiconductor Final test / Optical Inspection / Pick and Place
• Expertise with continuous improvement tools (5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) and JMP for data review/analytical studies.
• Expertise with project management and Semiconductor manufacturing (Wafer probe and burn in test)

Job Requirement

• 5 years or more of experience in a manufacturing field with Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Process, or Industrial Engineering or Applied Science
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaborative and project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage changes and implement solutions. Ability to work with a sense of urgency
• Working knowledge and experience with engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC, Pareto Analysis, Design of Experiments and structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, DMAIC)
• Experience delivering results to meet required deadlines in a fast-paced high-volume manufacturing environment
• Experience leading a team of engineers and technicians.
• Be accountable for line hold disposition and root cause investigation

Preferred Skills
