Job summary

One Seven Consulting is partnering with a leading regional manufacturing company in Penang to appoint a Talent Acquisition Manager (Based in Banyan Lepas) who will lead talent strategy and manpower planning across Malaysia to ensure qualified hires align with business objectives.

You will define sourcing approaches, build an employer brand, oversee both IDL and DL hiring, and develop the recruitment team while enhancing candidate experience and implementing robust assessment methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field.
• Knowledge of Employment Act and employment legislation.
• 5–10 years in Talent Acquisition with 2–3 years in leadership.
• Experience leading and developing a recruitment team.
• Strong decision-making, strategic thinking and ethical conduct.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Job description

We are partnering with a leading regional manufacturing company in a search for a Talent Acquisition Manager (Based in Banyan Lepas, Penang) to lead talent acquisition strategy and manpower planning across its Malaysian operations, so that qualified talent is attracted and hired in step with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute talent acquisition strategies that reflect business needs, workforce requirements and long-term organisational growth.
• Own manpower planning for the whole organisation across Malaysia.
• Lead recruitment across the corporate office and the machining and equipment divisions, so that manpower requirements are met on time.
• Lead and develop the recruitment team, which covers both Indirect Labour (IDL) and Direct Labour (DL) hiring.
• Work closely with Heads of Company and Heads of Department to oversee end-to-end recruitment activities.
• Set sourcing approaches that make use of every available channel, including the careers page, job boards, social media and work marketplaces.
• Build and roll out employer branding initiatives that strengthen the organisation’s standing as an employer of choice and its competitiveness in the talent market.
• Identify improvements to the candidate experience so that strong candidates are not lost to competing offers.
• Establish an assessment methodology covering hard and soft skills, applied before candidates progress to the next stage of hiring.
• Automate selected hiring steps and improve candidate communication throughout the process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of applicable employment legislation, including the Employment Act.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, with 2-3 years of leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a recruitment team.
• Strong decision-making, strategic thinking, leadership and interpersonal skills, with a record of ethical conduct.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
