Job summary

RFNet Technologies Pte Ltd is seeking experienced System Engineers to join our project team for the implementation of a major railway COMMS & ITS project in Malaysia (Penang).

The successful candidates will participate in engineering, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of railway COMMS & ITS systems, with opportunities to develop into T&C Lead Engineers for the respective systems. On-site work and coordination with multiple stakeholders are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in railway, telecommunications, ITS or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience in system implementation, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Experience working with railway communications or ITS systems is highly preferred.
• Willing to work on-site and support testing/commissioning activities, including occasional work outside normal working hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering and implementation of railway COMMS & ITS systems from design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Create design document, specifications, method statements and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with design, installation, subcontractor, supplier and customer teams to ensure successful project implementation.
• Supervise and support equipment installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, SIT, Test & Commissioning and handover activities.
• Develop and review test procedures, test records, inspection checklists and commissioning documentation.
• Support system integration with other railway systems and third-party equipment.
• Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, test reports and handover documentation.
• Support project meetings, site coordination and technical discussions with customers and contractors.

System Engineer – Railway Communications & ITS - Malaysia Penang

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced System Engineers to join our project team for the implementation of a major railway TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM (COMMS & ITS) project.

The successful candidates will be involved in the engineering, installation, testing, commissioning (T&C), integration and handover of railway COMMS & ITS systems. The positions are also intended to develop T&C Lead Engineers for the respective systems.

Candidates with experience in railway, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, data centre, fibre-optic networks, wireless communications, radio systems or other relevant COMMS/ITS systems are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the engineering and implementation of railway COMMS & ITS systems from design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Create design document, specifications, method statements and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with design, installation, subcontractor, supplier and customer teams to ensure successful project implementation.
• Supervise and support equipment installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), System Integration Test (SIT), Test & Commissioning and handover activities.

• Support system integration with other railway systems and third-party equipment.
• Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, test reports and handover documentation.
• Support project meetings, site coordination and technical discussions with customers and contractors.

Relevant Systems / Technical Experience

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred:

• Backbone Transmission Network (BTN)
• Telephone system which includes PABX and DVRS;
• Public address system (PAS);
• Closed circuit television system (CCTV);
• Information technology system (ITS), Data Center & Cybersecurity;
• Wireless Data Communication System (WDCS)

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in railway, telecommunications, ITS or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Experience in system implementation, installation, testing and commissioning.

Experience working with railway communications or ITS systems is highly preferred.

Able to coordinate effectively with multiple contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.

Willing to work on-site and support testing/commissioning activities, including occasional work outside normal working hours when required.

Candidates with strong hands-on experience but without a degree may also be considered.
