Job summary

R Systems seeks a seasoned IT professional to join our Banking IT team. The role focuses on applying strong knowledge in C++, .NET, and Java to support and enhance banking applications undergoing tech refresh migrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of strong application technical knowledge in C++, .NET, or Java.
• Experience in financial sector IT environment.
• Experience with tech refresh migrations to newer platforms.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Windows Batch.
• Experience with Connect Direct and job scheduling tools like Control-M.
• Ability to independently identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Good teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide application enhancements for banking open source systems.
• Perform problem investigation: identify, root-cause, define solution, develop and implement.
• Understand system design and provide impact analysis for changes.
• Perform code-level enhancement and defect fixing.
• Conduct source code scanning (Veracode), VA fixes and pentest fixes.
• Manage system risks and propose improvements to mitigate them.
• Attend user discussions and analyze requirements from projects or change requests.
• Prepare detailed functional and technical specifications and related docs per SDM.
• Coordinate vendor activities, perform unit/SIT testing, UAT and cutover.
• Transfer knowledge to Production Support for enhancements.

• Experienced working on Tech Refresh projects - migrate existing applications from obsolete platforms (e.g. obsolete server hardware, OS, DB versions) to newer versions.
• Hands on experience with any scripting languages – Power Shell scripting or Windows batch scripting.
• Experience in Connect Direct and using Job Scheduling tool like Control-M.
• Ability to independently identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues from both technical as well as functional perspective.
