Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily production streams, scheduling, and personnel across shifts. You will monitor performance metrics and drive improvements while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a degree in manufacturing-related field and several years of experience in high‑volume manufacturing with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5 years of production experience in high‑volume manufacturing, with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and root cause analysis.
• Familiar with ISO/IATF 16949, EHS, and quality management systems.
• Proven leadership and people management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production team members across shifts and lines.
• Ensure schedules meet safety, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Monitor OEE, yield, scrap, downtime; implement corrective actions.
• Drive productivity, cost reduction, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
• Provide training and feedback to team members to build capability.
• Enforce 5S/lean practices and manpower planning.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and handover to mass production.

Job Overview

Supervises the planning, scheduling, setting up, and running of routine and production streams.

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead production team members across assigned shifts and production lines.
• Ensure daily production schedules are met in compliance with safety, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (OEE, yield, scrap, downtime) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, cost reduction, and process efficiency.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve process and equipment issues.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members to build skill and capability.
• Enforce compliance with EHS standards, company policies, and 5S/lean manufacturing practices.
• Ensure proper manpower planning, shift scheduling, and attendance management.
• Manage production documentation, reporting, and escalation of issues to management.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth handover to mass production

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5years of production experience in high-volume manufacturing, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/lead role.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
• Good understanding of ISO/IATF 16949, EHS, and quality management systems.
• Proven leadership, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment with flexibility to support multiple shifts.
