Job summary

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd in Selangor is seeking a Procurement Support assistant to help manage PRs and POs, follow up with suppliers on confirmations, deliveries, and lead times, and monitor OTD performance.

The role involves tracking shipments, updating SCM reports in Excel, coordinating between SCM, warehouse, suppliers, and logistics, and assisting with discrepancies between documents and received quantities; ad hoc duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and monitoring Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO).
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery status, and lead time.
• Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules and outstanding orders.
• Monitor supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
• Assist in tracking delayed, short-shipped, or back-ordered parts.
• Assist in monitoring incoming local and import shipments.
• Prepare and update SCM reports using Excel, Pivot Table, and basic data analysis tools.
• Support coordination between SCM, warehouse, suppliers, and logistics teams.
• Monitor receiving status and Goods Received Notes (GRN).
• Support investigation of discrepancies between PO, delivery documents, and received quantities.
• Assist in communicating delivery requirements and urgent spare parts requirements.
• Monitor and follow up customer claim order

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) is a member of the Hong Leong Group, a Malaysian conglomerate with diverse businesses interests in various countries globally. HLYM's humble beginnings started in 1978, when Hong Leong Industries Bhd and Yamaha Motor Co Ltd of Japan (YMC) signed the franchise agreement to venture into manufacturing, assembling and marketing of Yamaha motorcycles in Malaysia. The entire HLYM complex consists of a Main Office block, R & D centre and 4 factories engaged in press and welding of metal parts, spray painting, assembly operations, plastic injection moulding and a designated warehouse for distribution of CBU motorcycles.

HLYM continues to invest in new technologies and equipment to improve productivity and upgrade the skills of workers on the transfer of technology with the guidance and coaching of YMC engineers and consultants.
