McDonald’s Malaysia- Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn Bhd is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead supplier relationships and drive cost-efficient procurement across the restaurant network. You will coordinate with suppliers, marketing, menu, restaurants, and distribution to ensure reliable supply and optimal value.

The role requires strong experience in supplier management, forecasting, and data analysis, with a track record of delivering continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Supply Chain Management related university degree and/or equivalent experience.
• International experience is considered an asset.
• 6 to 10 years of relevant Supply Chain Managerial experience.
• Experience in demand planning, supplier management, pricing benchmarking and cost management.

Develops and implements strategic and tactical programme to manage an assigned group of suppliers to optimize the “six McDonald’s and suppliers Shared Values” along with building and maximizing the supplier relationship. Provides and communicates Supply Chain solutions to meet customer needs whilst maximizing business outcomes. Key customers include Suppliers, Marketing, Menu, Restaurants, Franchisees, Distribution Centre, Finance and Consumer Business Insights.

Accountabilities

This position description should be read in conjunction with the McDonald’s Supply Chain Value & Workplace Safety Responsibilities Matrix which can be found under Workplace Safety on Access McD. In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, this position carries the authority to perform the principal accountabilities outlined below and any additional tasks required by the Company or your superior for which you are deemed competent:

Develops and manages the business relationship between McDonald’s and its suppliers.

Negotiates with suppliers to achieve least cost, best value solutions for McDonald’s System.

Conveys McDonald’s local and global supplier expectations, establishes supplier performance criteria, and conducts formal supplier reviews.

Provides ongoing coaching and support for supplier development.

Directs suppliers toward becoming self-managed, whilst facilitating achievement of McDonald’s expectations when required.

Ensures continuous improvement process for suppliers.

Develops and implements pricing protocols with key suppliers.

Stays current with trends to determine and do benchmarking (e.g. commodity pricing, finished goods pricing, plant efficiency, ratios, supplier KPIs etc).

Provides direction, information, feedback and resources to attain excellence.

Assured Supply

Ensure un-interrupted supply of products to all restaurants through forecast management

Maintain an efficient distribution system of products to all restaurants.

Ensure contingency plans are in place, tested and understood by responsible parties.

Product Support and Solutions

Facilitates the logistical resolution of supply issues for restaurant operations, suppliers and other departments.

Anticipates the impact of new product programs on the field. Develops programs to minimize issues at restaurants level

Provides or coordinates industry expertise on issues regarding the McDonald’s System’s respective product lines, or initiatives e.g. new technology, environmental issues, pricing trends etc.

Sources Suppliers that meet customer needs and maximizes Supply Chain efficiencies.

New products may only be introduced to restaurants after all appropriate procedures and policies as stipulated in the Supply Chain Manual have been completed.

People

Exemplifies ethical standards and corporate values through actions and decisions.

Builds and maintains working relationships to clarify communications, generate appropriate solutions and deliver information in a timely fashion to uphold high Supply Chain standards.

Role models the utilization of effective people systems within the Purchasing department (Selection, Performance Development System, Rewards and Recognition, etc).

Facilitates the development and ongoing execution of the Supply Chain Plan.

Builds strong, cohesive partnerships between McDonald’s and our major suppliers.

Foster teamwork and coordination among major suppliers and Cross Functional Teams.

Workflow and Process Management

Develops or assists in developing business cases for initiatives.

Facilitates quality of supplier data systems/files.

Gives feedback to suppliers on performance discussion of marketing activities.

Health & Safety

Proactively participates in the ongoing management of health and safety in the workplace by performing all duties with due care to the health and safety of self and others within the guidelines of the relevant policies and procedures and by following reporting guidelines for accidents, hazards and potential hazards.

Analytics

Keep track of Supply Chain product category spent by month

Complete Supply Chain accurate reporting requirements Head of Supply Chain & Finance Department in a timely manner

Continuously analyze current process and provide alternate streamlined approaches

Support Supply Chain team members with requests that involve volume or financial analysis, RFPs, SSR, business case development, inventory management

Monthly and yearly GP projection

Demand planning projection and analysis (sales, volume in cases)

Organizational Capacity

Develop basic knowledge on McDonald’s product cooking procedures and thorough knowledge of in store operations, capabilities and limitations

Ability to manage multi-faceted complex projects, demanding project schedules and critically short lead times while providing strong leadership in a calm and focused environment.

Qualification Required

Supply Chain Management related university degree and/or an equivalent combination of training and supply chain experience. A related supply chain professional designation is usually required and international experience is considered an asset.

Experience & Skills Required

A minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant Supply Chain Managerial role experience in supply demand planning, supplier management, suppliers’ processes and compliance management, pricing benchmarking and cost management, data evaluation, supplies distribution and inventory management

Key role is to lead and manage supply planning, forecasting, strategic sourcing, inventory control to ensure assured supplies to all restaurants. It includes data analytics, cost forecasting and cost management.

Provides and communicates Supply Chain solutions to meet customer needs whilst maximizing business outcomes.
