Job summary

Myamax Precision Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to evaluate suppliers, perform QA checks on incoming materials, and drive CAPA with external partners. The role requires collaboration with procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure adherence to quality requirements.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/engineering background, 2–3 years in metrology, and experience with SPC/FMEA/GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).
• 2–3 years of experience in metrology (CMM, Smartscope, roughness tester, etc).
• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, GD&T, and Control Plans.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or specific industry standards.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with suppliers.

Job description

1. Supplier Audits & Assessments Evaluate suppliers for compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001,etc.). Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality requirements.

2. Quality Control & Inspection Review incoming materials/components for defects or deviations. Implement inspection plans and acceptance criteria.

3. Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis Work with supplier on related quality issues using methodologies like 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis. Work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement Assist suppliers in improving processes to enhance product quality.

5. Documentation & Compliance Maintain quality records, FA inspection documents. Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration Work with procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure supplier quality issues are addressed. Support new product development by qualifying new suppliers.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).

Technical Knowledge: Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).

Experience: Minimum 2-3 year experience in metrologies (CMM, Smartscope, roughness tester, etc)

Quality Tools: Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, GD&T, and Control Plans.

Industry Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001 or specific industry standards.

Problem-solving: Proficiency in 8D, 5-Why, and root cause analysis techniques.

Communication: Strong ability to work with suppliers and internal teams effectively.
