Job summary

VIRTUE TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD in Simpang Ampat, Penang is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance & Control team on a full-time basis. You will drive supplier qualification, audits and compliance to quality standards across our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include supplier audits and scorecards, CAPA implementation, incoming inspection, data-driven quality reporting and cross-functional collaboration with procurement, engineering and production to optimise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of supplier quality, QA or QC in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable standards.
• Experience in supplier auditing methodologies and assessment techniques.
• Proficient in quality control tools and statistical methods (SPC, root cause analysis).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate quality management systems and compliance with standards.
• Develop, implement and maintain supplier quality agreements, scorecards and performance metrics.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, non-conformances and deviations promptly.
• Monitor supplier performance data and prepare quality reports for management review.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering and production to address supplier concerns and optimise performance.
• Perform incoming inspection and material verification to ensure shipments meet specs.
• Implement CAPA with suppliers to address root causes of quality failures.
• Maintain supplier quality documentation and audit trails for traceability.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers to improve their processes and quality systems.
• Participate in new supplier qualification and approval activities.

VIRTUE TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance & Control team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Simpang Ampat, Penang. The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring that all suppliers meet our stringent quality standards and compliance requirements. You will be instrumental in maintaining excellence throughout our supply chain, directly contributing to the quality and reliability of our products and our reputation in the marketplace.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate quality management systems and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
• Develop, implement and maintain supplier quality agreements, scorecards and performance metrics
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, non-conformances and deviations in a timely manner
• Monitor supplier performance data and prepare quality reports for management review and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering and production teams to address supplier concerns and optimise supplier performance
• Conduct incoming inspection and material verification to ensure supplier shipments meet specifications and quality requirements
• Implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes with suppliers to address root causes of quality failures
• Maintain supplier quality documentation, records and audit trails for traceability and compliance purposes
• Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Participate in new supplier qualification and approval activities to establish baseline quality standards

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality, quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards
• Experience with supplier auditing methodologies and assessment techniques
• Proficiency in quality control tools and statistical methods such as SPC, process capability analysis and root cause analysis
• Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
• Certification in quality management (such as ASQ CQE, IRCA or equivalent) is advantageous
• Experience in automotive, electronics or precision manufacturing sectors is preferred
