Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to monitor day-to-day supplier QA, drive improvements, and coordinate audits across metal works and CNC machining processes. You will liaise with incoming inspection and purchasing, analyze KPI data, and support QMS initiatives.

The role emphasizes hands-on QA, data analysis, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronic/Manufacturing or equivalent years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years working experience in hands-on quality assurance of fabrication on Metal Works & CNC Machining. Supplier quality engineer role.
• Work independently & communicate well with internal & external process owner.
• Good understanding on Metal Work and CNC machining process, drawing, tolerance & inspection operation (IQA, IPQA & OQA).
• Able to operate in-house measuring instruments such as caliper, micrometer, pin/block gauge & profile projector.
• Strong data analysis skill & able to monitor supplier quality performance & establish improvement plan. Supplier Audit.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day inspection operations on vendors supplied products.
• Liaise with the incoming inspection team and buyer on supplier quality issues.
• Supplier quality performance monitoring, evaluation & drive for improvement.
• Support the Purchasing department in the supplier quality performance evaluation & supplier audit.
• Participate in supplier audit, qualify or disqualify suppliers according to organization's standards.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing & regulatory departments.
• Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs.
• Compile monthly supplier performance evaluation data.
• Perform IQA weekly quality data collection and data analysis for KPI reporting.
• Coordinate root cause analysis, corrective action, preventive action on supplier quality issues and promote mistake proofing approach.
• Assist in QMS establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement.
• Assist customer audit and third party QMS certification assessment.
• Other duties as instructed by the QA Manager.
• Comply with ISO requirements and safety SOPs.

Job description

Monitor day-to-day inspection operations on vendors supplied products.

To liaise with the incoming inspection team and buyer on supplier quality issues.

Supplier quality performance monitoring, evaluation & drive for improvement.

To support the Purchasing department in the supplier quality performance evaluation & supplier audit.

Participate in supplier audit, qualify or disqualify suppliers according to organization's standards.

Maintain successful relationships with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing & regulatory departments.

Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs.

To compile monthly supplier performance evaluation data.

To perform IQA weekly quality data collection and data analysis for the KPI reporting.

To coordinate root cause analysis, corrective action, preventive action on supplier quality issues and promote mistake proofing approach.

Assist in QMS establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement.

Assist customer audit and third party QMS certification assessment.

Other duties and assignments as instructed by the QA Manager from time to time.

To comply with all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure.

Requirements:
