Job summary

MTD Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the QA/QC department. You will work with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans, and collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to proactively enhance component quality.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in quality engineering or related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quality engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience relevant to specific industry often preferred.
• Authority to stop incoming if found raw material or parts not meeting specification.
• Authority to stop production if found any problem.

Responsibilities

• Continually work with supplier to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans.
• Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to proactively improve the quality of components.
• Analyze supplier capabilities and performance.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics.
• Perform supplier quality systems audits and support improvements to supplier quality systems.
• Maintain and improve existing quality system processes.
• Verify inspection criteria, checklists for each product and process to ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Conduct training for new inspector staff and monitor their performance.
• Check and verify inspection daily reports for discrepancies and act accordingly to procedure.
• Plan and liaise with Purchasing on supplier development plan for quality improvement activity.

Supplier Quality Engineer role within the QA/QC department at Operation Level 2, reporting to Senior Supplier Quality Engineer / QA Manager. The role involves working with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans, and interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to proactively improve the quality of components.

Key responsibilities

• Continually work with supplier to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans
• Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to proactively improve the quality of components
