Job summary

Applied Materials South East Asia in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to collaborate with NPD/NPI teams, ensuring manufacturability and robust supplier performance. You will guide supplier selection, audits, and continuous improvements across cost, quality, and delivery metrics.

The role requires coordinating with design and production teams to optimize materials and processes for reliability, lead time reduction, and lifecycle improvements in a global electronics context.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating with development teams on engineering drawing requirements.
• Knowledge of supplier development and review processes for manufacturability.
• Familiarity with QA tools and root cause analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Work with New Product Development teams to ensure integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Interact with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in specification reviews to promote design for manufacturability.
• Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability.
• Participate in Supplier Selection to build a base delivering quality, value, delivery and technology advantages.
• Assist in supplier technical audits and evaluate performance to drive continuous improvements.
• Assist with quality problem resolutions, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing products and advise on materials to Design Engineering for savings and improvements.
• Conduct supplier production assessments to ensure readiness for transferred and new modules.
