Job summary

VAT Group in Batu Kawan, Malaysia, is seeking a Supplier Development & Quality Engineer to drive supplier performance, improve product quality, and enable operational excellence across our global supply chain. The role focuses on supplier qualification, capability assessments, and ongoing quality improvements with close collaboration across functions.

Key responsibilities include leading audits, supporting NPI, and driving root cause analyses to prevent quality issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Development.
Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA & GD&T.
Hands-on machining knowledge (CNC milling/turning) is highly preferred.
Material and surface treatment knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Monitor and improve supplier quality performance through KPI tracking and reviews.
Lead supplier audits, assessments, and qualification activities.
Support category managers in supplier selection with capability and risk assessment.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
Support new product introduction (NPI) and supplier onboarding activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply chain risks.
Own and execute the change management process, including engineering changes and localization activities.
