Job summary

Julie’s Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. in Alor Gajah, Melaka is seeking an Operations Supervisor to plan the daily manpower and oversee production. You will ensure quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC 22000, HAS and OH&S standards.

You’ll collaborate with Technical Supervisor to keep machines clean and safe, train new workers, and drive KPI targets. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience preferred, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Possess Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
• Two years of working experience in the related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge on food processing and raw material handling an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience in people management.
• Self-confidence and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
• Strong organisation, time management, attention to detail and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily manpower and deploy workers to the correct work areas.
• Ensure operators meet daily targets and output.
• Monitor line efficiency and prevent excessive manpower usage.
• Coordinate with technicians for machine setup and downtime issues.
• Enforce discipline and supervise housekeeping in work areas.
• Inspect product quality across biscuits, sandwiching and wrapping.
• Conduct personal hygiene checks before entering Packing Dept.
• Train new operators and potential leaders; support cross-functional teams.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

To check the production schedule and ensure that all preparations for the daily production are carried out accordingly.

To supervise and ensure all production operations run smoothly.

To check the production operations and to ensure all finished products comply with ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC 22000, HAS and OH&S requirement.

To carry out trouble-shooting for any issues and report them to the superior.

To collaborate with Technical Supervisor to ensure that the machines are clean and safe for use.

To supervise the cleanliness and condition of all the machines and production areas and to report any abnormality to the superior immediately.

To communicate daily operations processes before taking over and handling over the shift.

To check and verify all reports and forms.

To provide suggestions for improving operations.

To train new workers and to assess their progress.

To monitor worker’s discipline.

To assist Production Department in achieving departmental goals and KPI targets.

To Undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and arranging the daily manpower and making sure workers are deployed correctly in the respective work area / process.

Ensuring operators achieve/perform to daily targets and output.

Monitoring and ensuring there is no excessive usage of workers on every line.

Liaising with technician for machine set up and machine down/problem.

Enforcing discipline of the workers.

Supervising cleanliness and housekeeping on working areas and machines.

Checking the consistency of baked biscuits, sandwiching and wrapping quality.

Inspecting and ensuring good quality of every product.

Carrying out workers personal hygiene inspection before they enter Packing Dept.

Training new operators and potential leaders.

Undertaking any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Possess Diploma or Bachelor’ Degree in relevant discipline.

Preference will be given to a candidate with two (2) years of working experience in the related field.

Basic knowledge on food processing and raw material handling will be an advantage.

Knowledge and experience in people management.

Strong and clear demonstration of self-confidence and self-starter attitude.

Good organisation skills, time management skill, reliable, attention to details, problem solving and positive thinking.

Good interpersonal skill and able to work well with people.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also be a good team player where frequent collaboration across functional teams is necessary.

Good communication skills and able to communicate effectively with all level of employees in the organization.

Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software or application.

To be based in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
