Job summary

XP Power in Malaysia is seeking a Training Manager to lead site learning, technical training and workforce capability development, ensuring employees have the knowledge, skills and qualifications to perform safely, effectively and consistently.

You will partner with site leadership, Operations, Engineering, Quality and HR to align learning priorities with business plans, governance and continuous improvement goals, while managing the budget and external providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in learning and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in manufacturing.
• Experience developing training strategies, needs analyses, annual training plans and budgets, with measurable improvements.
• Knowledge of competency frameworks, skills matrices, qualification pathways and on‑the‑job training.
• Experience with learning management systems, training records, compliance and audit-ready documentation.
• Familiarity with HRD Corp grants, Malaysian training requirements and quality-management systems preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, facilitation, stakeholder-management, project-management and vendor-management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the site learning strategy, annual training plan and budget, aligned with business priorities and compliance.
• Lead site-wide training needs analysis and capability reviews, translating gaps into prioritized learning roadmaps.
• Establish governance, policies, standards and controls for curriculum design, trainer qualification, certification and record retention.
• Advise site leadership on capability risks, succession needs and development interventions.
• Design onboarding, technical, quality, safety, leadership and behavioral-skills programs for employees at all levels.
• Create role-based competency frameworks, skills matrices and qualification pathways.
• Ensure learning materials, assessments, and supporting resources are accurate and standardized.
• Build a sustainable internal-trainer and SME network, including qualification and coaching.
• Oversee assessment and verification, with remediation for overdue requirements.
• Lead initiatives that support productivity, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the training calendar, delivery portfolio and service standards.
• Maintain audit-ready learning records and certification status in the LMS.
• Ensure training activities comply with Malaysian laws and company procedures.
• Manage HRD Corp grants, external providers and vendor performance.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness with feedback, assessments and observation.
