Job summary

Armor Metal Precision Sdn Bhd, Batu Pahat, Johor, is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Executive for a full-time role. Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in manufacturing and experience in purchasing Chemicals and metal.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory control practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving procurement challenges.
• Familiarity with quality standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting suitable suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, reliability and service standards.
• Negotiating purchase terms, prices, delivery schedules and payment conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring all specifications and requirements are clearly communicated.
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with operations teams to ensure adequate stock availability without excess holdings.
• Tracking and expediting orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolving any delivery delays or discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate records of purchases, suppliers and procurement transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to support long-term business objectives.
• Analysing market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Liaising with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and providing support for special requests.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant regulations in all procurement activities.
