Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to manage supplier development, purchasing activities, price negotiations, and material delivery coordination to support manufacturing operations.

You will identify and develop suppliers, execute POs, negotiate prices, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining accurate records and reports. Proficiency in Excel and ERP is required and bilingual communication is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in any relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in supplier development, quotation comparison, and price negotiation.
• Familiarity with purchasing contracts, terms, and conditions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced in using ERP systems.
• Able to communicate effectively in Chinese and Bahasa Melayu.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple purchasing activities independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing, competitive pricing, and consistent material quality.
• Execute purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time.
• Compare supplier quotations, negotiate prices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review and manage purchasing contracts, including standard terms and conditions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure purchasing requirements are met.
• Monitor order status, material availability, and delivery schedules to prevent production disruptions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, quotations, and purchase order documentation.
• Use ERP systems to process purchase orders and monitor purchasing activities.
• Prepare purchasing reports and perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
