Job summary

Cablex is seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to drive cost efficiency and reliable supply across our manufacturing programs. This role supports global procurement operations and reports to Head of Global Procurement.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in procurement, strong analytical skills, and experience negotiating supplier terms and pricing models. This position may be based in Malaysia or India.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Logistics or related field.
• At least 3 years procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Experience supporting supplier negotiations, commercial terms, pricing models & purchasing activity.
• Strong analytical capability across spend, pricing & supplier performance data; proficient in Excel/ERP tools.

Responsibilities

• Drive supplier and item-level cost reduction initiatives using spend, pricing & performance insights.
• Support supplier negotiations, commercial terms, pricing models & contract renewals.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material costs, improve freight efficiency & consolidate supply.
• Collaborate with bids, planning, finance, logistics & production to price accurately & ensure supply continuity.
• Maintain vendor, purchasing, supplier documentation & contract records.
• Contribute to procurement reporting, KPI tracking, compliance & continuous improvement initiatives.

Are you a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys finding smarter ways to source, negotiate and deliver value? Cablex is seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to support global procurement and supply chain operations across our long-term manufacturing programs. This role may be based in Malaysia or India.

Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement, you will play a key role in improving cost efficiency, strengthening supplier relationships and supporting reliable supply across our global operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive supplier and item-level cost reduction initiatives using spend, pricing and performance insights
• Support supplier negotiations, commercial terms, pricing models and contract renewals
• Find practical opportunities to reduce material costs, improve freight efficiency and consolidate supply
• Work with bids, planning, finance, logistics and production to support accurate pricing and supply continuity
• Keep vendor, purchasing, supplier documentation and contract records accurate and up to date
• Contribute to procurement reporting, KPI tracking, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives

About you

This role will suit someone who is analytical, detail-oriented and confident working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver better commercial outcomes. You will bring:

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Logistics or a related field
• At least 3 years’ procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing
• Experience supporting supplier negotiations, commercial terms, pricing models and purchasing activity
• Strong analytical capability across spend, pricing and supplier performance dataConfidence using Excel, ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and written and spoken English communication skills

Experience in freight or logistics cost management, hub consolidation, BI tools or procurement certification will be highly regarded.
