Job summary

Hong Leong Bank is seeking a Head of Operations, Compliance & Risk to lead the first line of defense within Group Operations. You will oversee compliance and operational risk, advise business units on regulatory requirements, and ensure controls and processes remain secure and compliant.

The role reports to the Head of Group Operations and requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, or Law is required.
• Certification or qualification in compliance, risk, and governance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements compliance frameworks and updates policies to meet regulatory requirements.
• Acts as single point of contact for all GO compliance matters, with Group Compliance.
• Drives awareness initiatives to build a strong compliance culture across GO.
• Oversees completion of compliance self-assessments for GO.
• Ensures timely regulatory reporting and escalation of issues to management and Group Compliance.
• Works with Group Compliance to implement new legislation for GO.
• Implements Operational Risk Management to identify risks and propose controls.
• Reviews Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and self-audit results to ensure controls effectiveness.
• Tracks control effectiveness and reports significant risks or losses.
