Job summary

Hong Leong Bank Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Regional Operations Risk Officer to support the Regional Manager Operations in addressing non-compliance, strengthening internal controls, and mitigating risk across the region. You will focus on BHCL self-assessments and alignment with internal policies and statutory requirements.

The role requires a degree in Banking/Finance/Business or Law with at least 5 years in financial institutions or branch operations, and a solid understanding of AML/CFT

Qualifications

• Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in financial institutions or branch banking operations.
• Strong foundation in Branch Banking Operations, BNM rulings, Banking Secrecy, and AML/CFT compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RMO in evaluating operational risk management and BHCL compliance across the region.
• Identify and highlight operational non-compliance, control gaps, and procedural defects with actionable recommendations.
• Provide relief support for key operational roles within the region as required.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers and CSOMs to support deposit growth and cross-selling initiatives.
• Manage regional administrative tasks including report compilation and data analysis.
• Support formulation of corrective action plans to resolve compliance gaps and mitigate risks.
• Work with CSOMs across the region to elevate branch control and service quality.
