Job summary

Hong Leong Bank Berhad in Malaysia seeks an experienced compliance professional to provide advisory support on regulatory and operational risks. You will ensure governance, coordinate audits and engage with regulators and internal stakeholders to strengthen controls across the division.

The role requires banking compliance expertise, collaboration across groups, and the ability to implement effective training and communication programs to promote a culture of compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory compliance and operations risk in banking.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and governance.
• Ability to coordinate audits and respond to regulatory requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first line of defense to provide compliance advisory support to division's stakeholders on regulatory/internal compliance and operational risks.
• Act as main liaison to manage division audit, queries, assessments and surveys from regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Group Compliance and Group Risk to drive reviews of regulatory guidelines and due diligence for outsourcing.
• Facilitate independent reviews to identify non-conformities and strengthen governance.
• Drive self-assessment tests to enhance robustness of risk and controls.
• Initiate mystery shopping and surveillance to mitigate violations.
• Manage end-to-end process of new regulatory guidelines and policy publications with proper documentation.
• Drive zero tolerance culture for delays in reporting fraud or breaches.
• Create dashboards/reports for risk and control oversight.
• Develop compliance trainings and communications to raise awareness.
