Job summary

Kanry Search in Kulai, Malaysia, seeks a General Manager to lead our medical and plastic injection molding facility. You will oversee manufacturing operations, quality management, supply chain, and financial performance, guiding senior managers and building a high-performing team.

You will drive lean improvements, ensure ISO and quality standards, manage budgets, and strengthen customer relationships while scaling production to meet targets and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, including at least five years in a senior management position.
• Strong experience in plastic injection moulding, PCBA, and medical assembly manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and factory-management experience.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, quality-management systems and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of production, supply chain, cost management and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead all plastic injection moulding and assembly operations.
• Ensure production targets and customer delivery schedules are achieved.
• Improve productivity, operational efficiency and machine utilisation.
• Monitor daily production performance and resolve operational challenges promptly.
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
• Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Implement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, rework and customer complaints.
• Maintain compliance with ISO requirements and other applicable quality-management standards.
• Support corrective and preventive actions to improve product and process quality.
• Develop and manage factory budgets, operating expenses and capital requirements.
• Lead cost-reduction and profitability-improvement initiatives.
• Monitor the factory’s financial and operational performance.
• Take corrective action when performance falls below agreed targets.
• Improve cost control across labour, materials, overheads and manufacturing processes.
• Lead, coach and develop department heads, managers and employees.
• Build a positive, accountable and high-performance working culture.
• Ensure the factory has sufficient manpower and organisational capability.
• Support employee training, succession planning and leadership development.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Oversee procurement, inventory management, warehousing and logistics operations.
• Ensure the timely availability of materials to support production requirements.
• Improve inventory control and supply-chain efficiency.
• Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers and business partners.
• Address supply risks that may affect production or customer delivery.
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, safety and company requirements.
• Promote workplace safety awareness and continuous improvement.
• Monitor safety performance and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
• Support customer audits, business reviews and operational discussions.
• Ensure customer expectations are met in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
• Address major customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
• Support business growth and new project requirements where necessary.
