Job summary

Timeverse is seeking a Business Incubation and Expansion Manager to channel business acumen into market opportunities across Malaysia, Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The role focuses on identifying potential projects, sourcing talent, and validating concepts for rapid incubation and scaling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above from a recognized university; AI/Applied math/Finance/Economics preferred; CFA/CPA/ACCA or cross-border experience is a plus.
• 3+ years in business development, new business, strategic cooperation, or related fields.

Job description

We are looking for a Business Incubation and Expansion Manager with business acumen, industry resource development capabilities and project promotion skills. This is not a traditional equity stake investment position. The core responsibility of this role is to identify potential business opportunities from the market and industry networks, find suitable industry talents or teams, assess whether a project is worth advancing, and coordinate internal and external resources to complete project validation and early-stage incubation. Key areas of focus include AI applications, e-commerce, cultural and entertainment content, digital marketing and other asset-light industries with the potential for rapid validation and scaling. We prioritize the Malaysian market, while expanding project sourcing in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian markets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Discovery and Preliminary Assessment
  • (1) Continuously identify potential business projects through industry research, professional networks, platforms, institutions and partners, and proactively reach out to Subject-Matter Experts, business operators, entrepreneurs and small teams with execution capabilities;
  • (2) Understand the market demand, target customers, business model, competition landscape, team capabilities and required resources of the project; conduct preliminary screening of the project to identify opportunities worthy of further verification, and rule out projects that lack real demand or implementation conditions;
  • (3) Establish and maintain a database of potential projects, industry talents and cooperation resources.
• Project Evaluation and Advancement
  • (1) Conduct market research, customer interviews, competitive analysis and basic commercial calculations for potential projects to assess their feasibility;
  • (2) Convert the projects that pass the assessment into specific verification plans, and clarify the objectives, budget, person in charge, time nodes and success criteria;
  • (3) Coordinate the project team and internal resources of the company including product, technology, marketing, finance, legal and human resources to drive the implementation and development of the project.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above from key domestic and overseas universities, preferably majoring in artificial intelligence, applied mathematics/statistics, finance, or economics; professional qualifications such as CFA/CPA/ACCA/Sponsor Representative are a plus; those with cross-border/overseas business experience, in-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, or access to cross-border/overseas industrial resources are preferred;
• At least 3 years of working experience in business development, new business, strategic cooperation, entrepreneurship, growth, consulting, internet platforms or related fields;
• Be familiar with at least one industry among AI applications, e-commerce, cultural and entertainment content, digital marketing, fintech, or the asset-light business models related to the aforementioned fields, and possess certain industry connections or resource development capabilities;
• Good skills in communication, business negotiation, information organization and cross-department coordination;
• Proactive at work, strong in execution, and able to adapt to the uncertainties in the early stage of new projects;
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English are required; proficiency in Malay for local business communication and command of Chinese are both preferred.
