Job summary

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Equipment Engineer to provide line support for equipment setup, recovery, and corrective maintenance to meet KPI targets in the Wet department. You will troubleshoot advanced systems, support new tools setup and qualification, and maintain critical spare parts to minimise downtime.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Mechanical/Chemical/Automation or equivalent and at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with Wet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Wet Benches, Spray tools, and single‑wafer chamber systems such as Veeco, Siconnex, and SCREEN.
• Relevant experience in semiconductor/foundry environment.
• Knowledge of Wet tools (Metal Lift‑off, Chemical Spray tool, Wet Benches and SRD tool).
• Good interpersonal skills, able to handle stress, fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and 5S compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide line support for equipment setup, recovery and corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Wet department.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Perform advanced machine troubleshooting with Wet tools knowledge.
• Support new tools setup, installation and qualification.
• Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations.
• Support process team for evaluation and process verification.
• Develop equipment training programs to enhance maintenance skills among associate engineers and technicians.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.

Perform advanced machine troubleshooting with knowledge of Wet tools including Metal Lift-off, Chemical Spray tool, Wet Benches and SRD tool. Support new tools setup, installation and qualification. Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of necessary components. Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards. Support process team for evaluation and process verification. Mitigate risk capacity and capability bottleneck. Develop equipment training programs to enhance maintenance skills among associate engineers and technicians. Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent

At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Wet Benches, Spray tools, and single‑wafer chamber systems such as Veeco, Siconnex, and SCREEN

Relevant experience in semiconductor/foundry environment

Knowledge of Wet tools (Metal Lift‑off, Chemical Spray tool, Wet Benches and SRD tool)

Good interpersonal skills

Able to handle stress

Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
