Job summary

Benchmark Asia Design Center in Penang, Malaysia seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to specify, plan, and verify electronics subsystems in product development or sustaining projects. You will design schematics and interfaces using Cadence OrCAD and Mentor VX Designer, and contribute to cost estimates and documentation.

You will assist prototypes, board bring-up, power-on tests, and debugging to deliver a reference board that meets quality standards and project timelines.

Job description

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the specification, planning, detailed design, implementation and verification of electronics subsystems in product development or sustaining support projects.

• Focuses on specific electronic hardware design and documentation for customer products using standard methods and tools to provide products that are manufacture able and meet both the customers’ requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements.
• Design schematics using Cadence OrCAD, Mentor VX Designer for custom circuit interfaces and signal controls for electrical system design.
• Develops electrical project proposal inputs and associated cost estimates that aligns with product budget.
• Assists with assembly of prototypes, board bring up power-on efforts and board debugging to produce a golden referenced board design with evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan.
• Performs evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan.
• Creates all necessary documentation related to electronic design projects.
• Recognized as senior expert for technical problem-solving beyond use of typical methods.
