Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking anElectrical Engineer to design control systems and electrical enclosures up to 480 V AC in Malaysia. You will collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include coordinating prototypes, performing electrical safety tests, and supporting CE/UL testing. A bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years’ experience are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in electrical panel development for thermal products.
• Strong understanding of inverters, drives and pumps.
• Proficiency in writing functional requirements and documenting designs.
• Experience with ELCAD schematic or similar tools.
• Experience with electrical power/current/harmonics measurements equipment.
• Ability to manage hardware development lifecycles and schedules.
• Ability to debug, validate, and support manufacturing tests at board level.
• Design for testability and manufacturability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Create, select, and maintain components in design tools and with suppliers.
• Coordinate prototype/production builds with contract resources or manufacturers.
• Develop test cases and calculations for electrical safety tests.
• Coordinate CE/UL testing and ensure standards compliance.
• Ensure designs meet quality, reliability, cost, and delivery targets.
• Create, collect, maintain, and review item documentation (ELCAD drawings, BOMs).
• Work with PLM to create items and manage revisions.
• Value Analysis/Value Engineering to optimize product value.
• Provide input from custom orders into NPDI modules for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Mech Engineers, firmware/software, system test, support, and manufacturing.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Designs control system and low voltage electrical enclosures (<480 volts AC).
• Creating, selecting and maintain components in the design tools & suppliers.
• Working with contract resources and/or manufacturers for prototype/production builds.
• Develop test case and calculation for electrical safety test of product.
• Responsible for coordinate for CE / UL testing of product.
• Ensure that design solutions meet standards for quality, reliability, cost, and delivery time.
• To create, collect, maintain, and review item documentation (ELCAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• Work in a structured company using PLM system to create items and managing the revisions.
• Value Analysis/Value Engineering) VAVE optimizes product value by reducing costs while maintaining or enhancing quality, functionality, and performance.
• Provide input from custom orders such as Engineering to Order (ETO) projects into NPDI modules to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborates with other groups, including Mech Engineers, firmware & software developers, system test, customer support, and manufacturing.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree, Electrical Engineering or related degree Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience in Electrical panel development for thermal products
