Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Penang seeks a Staff Product Engineer to drive the technical ramp-up of power switches, owning process development and yield optimization. You will lead cross-site teams, apply 8D problem solving, and collaborate with operations, product development and customers to stabilize production and improve margins.

You will bring a university degree in electrical engineering or related field, 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, and strong data analysis, Excel and SQL

Qualifications

• A university/university of applied sciences degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering or a comparable program.
• 5+ years of professional experience within the semiconductor and system manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of frontend and backend processes including a deep understanding of manufacturing requirements and production strategy.
• Experience in leading cross-site and cross-functional problem solving teams.
• Knowledge in 8D problem solving method.
• Experience in generating valuable information out of data from different sources and in handling data and statistics.
• Excellent skills in MS Excel, SQL database programming as a plus.
• Fluent English skills, German skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stability and yield during product development and collaborate with product developers and project managers.
• Take ownership of power transistor product engineering after development.
• Stabilize and optimize yield during ramp-up and production, and monitor yield.
• Support transfer and change projects with engineering expertise and milestone releases after characterization.
• Lead cross-site problem solving with operations and other functions to correct deviations in FE/BE processes.
• Identify root causes of customer rejections and production issues and drive corrective actions.
• Lead productivity improvements to reduce costs and enhance product performance.
• Head gross-margin improvement teams across the manufacturing chain.
