Job summary

Deloitte Southeast Asia is seeking a Business Management Associate in Kuala Lumpur to support the Southeast Asia Strategy & Transactions leadership with operational management and strategic initiatives. You will help prepare data for weekly to annual reviews, perform analyses, and present findings to senior leaders.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in accounting/finance, 1–2 years’ experience (fresh grads considered if MS Office skills exist), and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills with

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, business or finance.
• 1–2 years proven in similar capacity; fresh graduates considered if MS Office skills exist.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; able to build and maintain graphs; macros a plus.
• Proficient in developing presentations and reporting using Excel/PowerPoint.
• Intermediate Outlook skills for emailing and meetings.
• Experience with Power Automate is a plus.
• Able to work with cross functional Finance & HR and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze data to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews and planning events.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Monitor actuals, forecasts and targets such as sales, revenue, WIP, expenses and resource utilization.
• Prepare data analytics reports for senior management.
• Interact with senior leadership to present analyses, discuss recommendations and provide financial advice.
• Involve and own other projects such as internal events and monthly/quarterly meetings.

Work you’ll do

You’ll have a critical role supporting the Southeast Asia - Strategic, Risk & Transactions leadership team with the operational management of the practice as well as supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze data to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews, as well as strategic planning events.
• Perform various ad-hoc analyses, including financial reconciliations and variance analysis and other relevant metrics.
• Monitor actuals, forecasts and targets such as sales, revenue, WIP, expense, resource utilization etc.
• Prepare data analytics reports for senior management.
• Interact periodically with senior level leadership to present financial analyses, discuss recommendations and provide project financial advice.
• Be Involved and take ownership of other projects such as internal events, monthly & quarterly meeting, etc.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant accounting, business or finance discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years proven in similar capacity; fresh graduate can be considered if required MS Office Skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerAutomate) exist.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. You should know how to build and maintain graphs; ideally know how to build Macros or keen to pick up such a skill.
• Intermediate skills in developing presentations and reporting materials using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate skills in using Outlook for communicating via email and arranging for meetings.
• Experience with process automation tools (e.g. Power Automate) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with cross function groups such as Finance & human Resource.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English.
