Job summary

EVE ENERGY MALAYSIA SDN BHD is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality management, audits, and improvement initiatives. You will drive PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC, approve PPAP/FAI, and manage incoming QC criteria.

You will participate in NPI readiness, qualify suppliers and components, and ensure compliance with ISO/IATF standards while reducing quality costs. Strong cross-functional communication in Mandarin, Malay, or English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or automotive manufacturing.
• Familiar with ISO9001 and IATF16949; VDA6.3/6.5 is a plus.
• Knowledge of CP/8D/5Why/Cpk/Fishbone; 6sigma and lean are a plus.
• Experience in quality management or project management; internal auditor of QMS preferred.
• Good command of Mandarin, Malay or English for liaising with suppliers and HQ.

Job description

1. Supplier Quality Management & Development:

Serve as the primary quality interface for assigned suppliers, conducting audits, evaluations, and performance reviews.

Develop and implement Supplier Quality Assurance plans and requirements.

Lead supplier improvement initiatives, including Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Approve supplier First Article Inspections (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.

2. Incoming Quality Control & Problem Solving:

Establish and maintain incoming inspection criteria and procedures.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (8D, CAPA) for supplier-related defects or non-conformances.

Analyze quality data (e.g., defect rates, Pareto charts) to identify trends and drive systemic improvements.

3. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:

Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure supplier quality readiness for new product launches.

Evaluate and qualify new suppliers and new components during the design and prototyping phases.

4. Compliance & Continuous Improvement:

Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100) and company-specific requirements.

Drive cost-of-quality reduction initiatives by minimizing scrap, rework, and inspection efforts.

Develop and deliver quality training to suppliers as needed.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, audits, and quality agreements.

Report on key Supplier Quality metrics to management.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or automotive manufacturing.

Being familiar with ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality management system. Familiar with VDA6.3/6.5 is a plus.

Being skillful in the use of CP/8D/5Why/Cpk/fishbone, prefer to have the knowledge of 6sigma and lean.

Experience in quality management or project management, internal auditor of quality management system is preferred.

Good command of Mandarin, Malay or English( Need to liaise with the Chinese Supplier and the colleagues who work in Chinese HQ).
