Job summary

BizLink Group in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure raw materials and components meet strict quality specs. You will conduct supplier assessments, audits, and qualifications, drive RCCAs, and maintain robust quality records.

You will liaise with IQC, Production, and Engineering, enforcing quality controls, resolving non-conformances, and supporting customer audits to uphold ISO 9001, 13485, AS 9100, and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with QA/QC experience.
• Experience with sheet metal parts, machining, and assembly projects.
• Experience handling supplier, internal, and customer quality issues.
• Detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Mandarin, English & Malay.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and qualifications to ensure materials meet specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers to define and enforce quality control requirements for materials.
• Assist in supplier selection by evaluating potential vendors' quality systems.
• Review incoming material rejection from IQC and production, with disposition feedback to supplier.
• Issue SCAR to supplier non-conformance and drive RCCA (8D, 5-Whys, FMEA, SPC).
• Investigate and justify IQC/production/customer rejection whether supplier-caused.
• Monitor Top 3 worst supplier performers for quality improvements.
• Maintain supplier quality records: audits, NCRs, SCARs, validation docs.
• Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers on quality topics.
• Track supplier performance indicators and prepare management reports.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that raw materials and components meet stringent quality specifications through comprehensive supplier assessments, audits, and qualifications. This role drives continuous improvement by managing supplier non-conformances, executing root cause corrective actions, and maintaining robust quality records. By liaising with internal teams and ensuring compliance with multiple industry standards, the engineer enhances material reliability and supports overall manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and qualifications to ensure raw materials and components meet specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers to define and enforce quality control requirements for materials.
• Assist in supplier selection by evaluating potential vendors' quality systems.
• Liaise with the internal team in reviewing the incoming material rejection from IQC and production, with disposition action and feedback to the supplier if the rejection proved to be valid.
• Issue SCAR to supplier non conformance incoming lots and drive the supplier for root cause and corrective action(s) (RCCA) (8D, 5-Whys, FMEA, SPC) to eliminate recurring quality issues.
• Conduct an investigation and complete a justification report on rejection feedback by IQC, production, and customer side if the issue is caused by the supplier side.
• Monitor and drive the Top 3 worst supplier incoming performers for quality improvement projects to enhance material consistency and reliability.
• Maintain supplier quality records, including audit findings, non-conformance reports (NCRs), supplier corrective action reports (SCARs), and process validation documentation.
• Perform source inspection for FA customised parts and ensure suppliers complete the FAIR submission
• Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers on required knowledge and skills related to quality
• Track supplier performance indicators (PPM, defect rates, delivery quality, response time, etc.) and management report.
• Report all SQE-related KPI(s) and other management-assigned KPI(s) (a)weekly (b) monthly to corporate and site facilities.
• Support monitoring and drive the top 3 high values in the Material Review Board (MRB) lot for closure.
• As one of the decision-making members in disposing of daily incoming rejected lots.
• Ensure supplier compliance with customer requirements, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100, IATF 16949, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and other industry standards as required.
• Support internal teams (IQC, Engineering, Production) in understanding supplier quality issues.
• Support for any customer or third-party audit related to the IQC & SQE section.
• Any ad-hoc task as assigned by the HOD/ superior.

Job Requirements

• Min. Bachelor's degree holder in relevant Engineering courses with experience in QAQC.
• Equipped with good technical knowledge related to Sheet Metal parts, Machining background, and experience in handling Power Box or VAA-related assembly projects.
• Have experience in dealing with incoming, supplier, internal, and customer-related quality issues.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle work with minimum supervision and drive team members in achieving goals.
• Able to converse well in Mandarin, English & Malay.
