Job summary

Randstad Malaysia invites applications for a Supplier Quality Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager role based in Melaka, to lead supplier quality initiatives and drive excellence across the supply chain. You will mentor a supplier quality team, conduct audits, manage CAPA, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and regional suppliers to maintain ISO 9001 standards.

Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous for liaising with regional suppliers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with at least 5 years of supplier quality experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Supplier Quality team to prioritize daily operations, foster a "Zero Defects" mindset, and ensure alignment with ISO 9001 standards.
• Drive structured problem-solving for supplier non-conformances, ensuring effective containment, root cause analysis, and timely CAPA closure.
• Conduct supplier quality audits, evaluations, and new material/supplier qualifications, tracking evidence-based corrective actions to completion.
• Monitor key supplier metrics and run regular performance reviews to continuous improvement.
• Partner with Supply Chain Management to assess vendor risks, manage escalations, and report actionable quality insights to senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and proactive communication between internal stakeholders, management, and global suppliers.

the experience

• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including proven technical leadership or project management exposure.
• Strong familiarity with manufacturing and industrial processes, such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, module assembly, and functional testing.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to liaise with regional suppliers.
