Job summary

Fengshi Metal Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Powder Coating Operator to apply coatings on sheet metal parts, electrical cabinets and frames. You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings and inspect results to meet quality standards.

You will operate spray guns, use basic finishing tools, and assist with related production tasks. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team, with overtime and 5.5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in powder coating, spray painting, paint touch-up or metal finishing.
• Able to operate spray guns and use basic painting/finishing tools.
• Willing to learn powder coating processes and other production tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform powder coating on sheet metal parts, electrical cabinets and machine frames.
• Prepare and inspect surfaces before coating, including cleaning and masking.
• Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, bubbles, pinholes, scratches, dents and colour differences.
• Carry out touch-up and repair work using sanding, putty/body filler and polishing.
• Perform sanding, surface levelling, spot touch-up, re-spraying and polishing to restore appearance.
• Ensure repaired and coated surfaces meet customer quality standards.
• Support normal powder coating production activities and maintain a clean workspace.

Job description

Perform powder coating operations for sheet metal parts, electrical cabinets, machine frames and other metal components.

Prepare and inspect surfaces before powder coating, including cleaning, masking and basic surface preparation.

Inspect coated parts and identify defects such as runs, pinholes, bubbles, scratches, dents, colour differences, powder build-up, missed areas, sanding marks and surface particles.

Carry out touch-up and repair work using sandpaper, spray gun, touch-up paint, putty/body filler and polishing tools.

Perform sanding, surface levelling, spot touch-up, re-spraying and polishing to restore product appearance.

Ensure repaired and coated surfaces meet customer visual inspection and quality standards.

When touch-up/repair work is not required, support normal powder coating production activities.

Assist with powder coating preparation, loading/unloading of parts and other related production activities.

Maintain spray guns, tools and equipment in good working condition.

Follow work instructions, quality requirements and safety procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized working area.

Support other production tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience in powder coating, spray painting, paint touch-up or metal finishing is preferred.
• Experience in sheet metal, metal fabrication or electrical cabinet manufacturing is an advantage.
• Able to perform sanding, touch-up painting and basic surface repair.
• Able to operate spray guns and use basic painting/finishing tools.
• Good attention to detail and able to identify surface and coating defects.
• Willing to learn powder coating processes and other production tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Able to work 5.5 days per week.
